Your Actions are equal to your results, and will show in the amount of profits you are making
If you want to know how hard you are working, look at the results you are getting. Many people tell me they are working 10 hours a day, yet have no results. Many tell me they have tried everything, and still have no income. Some people are starting to see a little business coming in, but nothing like the amount of effort they are putting out. It is a common complaint, you are not seeing results in equal to the action you are doing. People ask me all the time, how I have been able to do so much, so fast.
I want to share with you how you can start having compounding effects of action in your business.
Let’s pretend you wanted a garden. If you were planting tomato seeds, you would not grow corn. But that is exactly what you are doing. You are trying to grow one thing, yet you are getting another. In fact, many of you are not even getting the seeds into the soil, or when you do, you never water the seeds. There is a process to grow a business, the same as growing a garden.
First is the soil, the same in your business. You must make sure you are open to receiving business. I find many people are not even open to learning, growing and investing into the opportunity they have chosen. So even though they may put the seeds in the ground and water every day, nothing is happening. The soil was not ready. What this means is you must attend training to learn about your business, and you must then implement. You can not go buy a big bag of soil, and mulch and all the necessary nutrients to put in the ground, then just leave it sitting in the bag. You actually have to put it in the ground and prepare the soil. You must educate yourself, you must attend training, you must learn the exact skill that you need to grow your business. This is not mindset, or motivation training, you cannot just tell the plants to grow, and speak positive words over the land and think it will magically sprout plants. You must actually do the hard work. This is actually picking up the shovel, adding the ingredients and doing the work. In your business, you get a skill, you implement the skill, and sometimes it is going to be hard and challenging, but you keep doing it, until the soil is ready. You know this is you, if you are still finding reasons why you cannot talk to people. You have an excuse that you have not learned how to do something yet, so you are avoiding planting the seeds. This is your business if you are waiting for the right time, or for the next step. You cannot wait on anything, you need to just finish digging the soil and start planting the seeds. You can tell yourself positive things all day long, which is great, but make sure you are planting while you say the affirmations to get to the next level.
Once the soil is ready, you are going to plant some seeds. What do you want to grow? If you currently have cucumbers but you wanted zucchini, you planted the wrong seeds. You must know what kind of clients you want to work with. If you have a bunch of cucumbers, you have been planting the wrong seeds. Where do zucchini seeds hang out? Have you defined what type of zucchini? How big will they grow? and how many plants do you need to meet your zucchini needs? In your business, you need to know the exact type of client you want, where they hang out, what are they looking for, and how many exactly you need to reach your goal. Without this information, you might as well be growing pumpkins. Maybe you are starting to think, this is why some of my clients are pumpkins!! (Just kidding!) You know this is you, if you are working hard, getting clients or have a ton of prospects, but no one really is buying anything. You are sharing your products, services, and more, yet you keep getting no results. It is time for you to define your market. Who needs your product, why do they need it, how is it going to help their life. Tell yourself who you are helping and how you are helping them. Where do those people who need your help hang out. Now go and help them! (Note: Do not use your company presentation which is generic, define your own story to help your target market)
So now what…. you have planted the seeds, and you want to grow some zucchini. You now need to make these seeds grow and thrive. Does a seed grow the first day you plant it? Do you just drop it in the ground and keep dumping water on it hoping it will grow today? Maybe, you put so much water on it, you kill it before it had a chance. Or maybe you plant the seeds and ignore it and come back a few weeks later and can’t figure out why it has not grown into the plant you expected. The ground might even be covered in weeds by this point. This is what you are doing in your business. You go out and find great prospects, but then just like dumping gallons of water on the seed, you dump information all over this great person you met. You overkill them in the first five minutes. Maybe you are the opposite, you get a business card, or some information, then you never contact them and talk about your business. Then a few weeks later, you might send an email and say hello, again never mentioning what you do. The next time you see that awesome prospect, they tell you about what they just bought from your competition, not even realizing what you did.
Even if you have made it this far, and many of you are getting this far, you have really done the hard work. Prepared the soil, planted the seeds, and started watering. You even pull the weeds on occasion. But there is no consistency. Sometimes you water when you remember, some days you feel like weeding, and other times, you just walk by and look at the garden. Do you ever tell yourself you will do it later today? Some people are really good, and they might even schedule watering, weeding and all the rest into their daily planner, but you know how it goes, sometimes things just come up, and life gets busy. This step may be the most important…. you must water and weed. Of course, do not forget some sun also. You must do this consistently. All success happens with a process of doing something again and again. Sometimes success may seem boring to get the result, but it is the daily action that will bring the best results. Is this you? Is there no consistency in your business. I can relate, this was my challenge for a long time, with 4 kids, I worked hard and went in circles. I could not figure out why I was not getting results. I was not consistent with growing and communicating with my list. This one secret, grow your list, and communicate consistently, will grow a business bigger than any garden you can imagine.
Is it starting to make sense now why you are not getting results in your business?
I want to share one more type of person. This one is the most common. They are being consistent, in fact they are working in the garden everyday. Yet, they cant figure out why nothing is growing. I talk with this type of business owner the most, because they feel the most struggle and pain, and want results so badly. I can help this type the most, but you must be open. The challenge is that this type of business owner is not usually open to listen to the idea of changing. That is what breaks my heart the most.
This person is in the garden, they went bought the seeds, got the shovel, and went in the yard and started digging. Today they worked hard digging, yesterday they organized all the seeds, before that they studied the right combination of nutrients to put in the soil. In fact if you talked with this person, they could tell you all about gardening, they could tell you why certain seeds work, why you need a special mulch and exactly what time of day and month to plant the correct seeds. Everyday, they work so hard, working on the soil, counting the seeds, figuring out the right place, the right time of day, and the right amount of sun and water. Yet they are not planting any seeds, and they are not growing anything. You could recognize if you feel you are working really hard, yet you have no leads. If I ask how large is your list, and you do not have a list, this might be you. You are gardening all day, but not planting any seeds. Even if you have a few seeds, and none are growing. You would know this is you if you are not doing any presentations. Maybe you do not even know how to sell your product, you know all the ingredients and details, but do not know how to sell it to someone else.
Ask yourself are working your business everyday, and not getting results.
This one is the easiest to fix, because you already have a great work ethic and willing to work hard on your business. You must track and change your activities. Your first focus needs to be that it is finally time to plant the seeds. Stop worry about the perfect soil and making sure you have things in place. Immediately, you must start list building. You must try different list building activities and track the results. Both online and offline. You must have 5-7 ways to get leads into your list. These 5-7 ways must result in leads, or after 2 weeks, you try a new way, you keep doing this until you have developed a consistent plan of leads coming into your list. You must also be open to learning new list building, and implement what you learn. Each and everyday, you must track your work with how many new prospects you got that day, and then track how you are consistently reaching those prospects, and how you are getting them to your sales presentation. The formula is as simple as gardening.
Now is your chance to grow the garden of your choice, as big as you want, with the type of seeds you choose. It is up to you…. you must now decide it is your time to grow.
